Contact and data safety

What can other users see?

Only what’s needed for a shared ride:

  • your name in the form you choose: full name, first name only, or first name and the first letter of your surname (Profile → Account → “Visibility”),
  • your photo and whatever you add to your profile yourself (e.g. “About me”, car details),
  • whether your email address and phone number are verified,
  • the route, time and role (driver / passenger) of your rides.

Other users can’t see your email address. Your phone number stays hidden until you have an accepted booking with each other. Who can see my phone number?

Does the app use my location?

Yes, in two situations:

  • when you add a ride – to look up addresses and work out the route,
  • during a ride, if you’re the driver and you agree to it – the passengers of that ride can then see on the map where you are. Only from 15 minutes before departure until the end of the ride, never in between rides. You can turn it off in Profile → Preferences → “Share location to passengers”.

More: What location data do we collect and who can see it?

Can my employer see my rides?

In a company network, your company gets statistics about the programme in its admin panel: how many people use the app, how many shared rides and bookings there were, and environmental indicators. Your employer has no access to your chat conversations or your location.

In the public network there’s no employer – nobody except the people on the ride can see who you travel with.

How do we protect your data?

  • The connection to the app is encrypted.
  • We store data on servers in the European Economic Area or in countries with an equivalent level of protection.
  • We don’t share data with other companies, except technical service providers (e.g. hosting) that process it on our behalf.

Details: Privacy policy.

Someone is behaving inappropriately

There’s no button in the app to report or block someone. Write to us using the contact form – give the person’s name and describe what happened.
