The suggested ride value is an estimated amount that helps divide travel costs between participants of a shared commute in a simple and transparent way.
It is not a commercial fee. Its purpose is to fairly share the costs of fuel and basic vehicle operation so that the driver does not bear the full cost of the trip, while passengers can contribute to the travel expenses.
This way employees do not need to negotiate the amount each time between themselves. The application simply provides a fair reference point.
How the suggested ride value is calculated
The suggested ride value is calculated automatically based on the route distance and an estimated cost per kilometer.
The cost per kilometer is calculated using the following formula:
cost per 1 km = (average fuel consumption / 100) × fuel price
Default system parameters:
average fuel consumption: 8 l / 100 km
average fuel price: 6 PLN / l
Based on these values, the system uses an estimated rate of:
0.48 PLN per kilometer
Formula for the suggested ride value
suggested ride value = route distance (km) × 0.48 PLN
Example
Route: 20 km
20 × 0.48 PLN = 9.60 PLN
The suggested ride value is approximately 9.60 PLN.
Do users have to settle the cost of a ride?
No. Settling the cost between ride participants is not mandatory.
The suggested ride value is informational and only helps participants fairly divide fuel costs between the driver and passengers. Participants can decide whether they want to settle the cost or treat the ride as completely free.
In many teams, shared rides take place without any payment and are simply a form of mutual support between colleagues.
One of many ride details
The suggested ride value is only one of several pieces of information shown for a proposed ride.
The application also displays other details that help users evaluate the ride, such as the ride date, route distance in kilometers, estimated travel time, possible detours to pick up passengers, and the number of occupied seats in the car.
This gives users full context and allows them to easily decide whether they want to join the ride.
