inOneCar connects people who are going the same way. You and the other person arrange the ride itself between you, as driver and passenger. inOneCar is not a carrier and doesn’t organise rides. That’s why it matters that both sides follow a few simple rules. The full version is in the terms of service (§8–§11).
Before the ride
- Only add rides you’ll actually make, with the real time and route.
- The first time, agree in the chat on exactly where you’ll meet.
- Drivers: add your car details to your profile (make, colour, registration number). It helps the passenger recognise you.
- If something matters to you (e.g. chatting or quiet, music, larger luggage), say so in advance.
Punctuality
Be at the agreed place at the agreed time. If you’re running late, let the other person know straight away in the chat or by phone. The driver is late or the passenger doesn’t show up – what should I do?
Changes and cancellations
- If you change the time, the route or the meeting point, tell the other person as soon as you decide.
- If you’re not going, cancel in the app, not just in the chat. Otherwise, after the arrival time the app treats the ride as completed. Can I cancel a reservation?
- Frequent last-minute cancellations can lead to restricted access to the app.
Safety
The driver:
- has a valid driving licence,
- drives a car with valid third-party insurance and a valid MOT/inspection,
- is sober and follows traffic rules,
- doesn’t take more people than there are seats in the vehicle registration document.
The passenger:
- wears a seat belt,
- doesn’t distract the driver,
- respects the car.

Costs
A shared ride means sharing travel costs, not making money. The amount the driver asks for can’t be higher than the passenger’s share of the real costs, such as fuel and tolls. The app won’t let you enter a higher price. You pay each other directly, and inOneCar takes no commission. How does the ride price work?
You decide who you ride with
- A booking only exists when both sides agree. Before accepting, you can check the other person’s profile and message them in the chat.
- If someone other than the person you arranged with turns up at the meeting point, you don’t have to ride with them.
- If someone behaves inappropriately, write to us using the contact form. Give the person’s name and describe what happened.
